HQ Hosting
The dataDyne HQ hosting program has been designed to recognise top quality
gaming sites (of any platform) and give them the exposure and services
they need to become even better. Remember, this is exactly how we started,
and look where we are now! Not only is the program designed to give
individual sites a home, it is also to develop a closely knit dataDyne
HQ "Network" made up of several gaming sites. If you have
any site of the video gaming genre, read on.
Hosting Services
Here's
what you'll get from
- Free subdomain hosting (yourname.datadynehq.com)
- If your site is considered good enough, you may even receive domain
hosting free of charge.
- Your space will be allocated depending on the quality and size of
your site. All hosted sites will start with 20MB, but we're very flexible.
If you need more, it can easily be arranged.
- One of the biggest advantages is that you will be a part of the dataDyne HQ Network, which is a part
of the even bigger N64Shooters
Network. At the moment, the entire network receives over one million
unique hits a month and is an affiliate of IGN64.com.
A link to your site will be on the pages of all dataDyne HQ sites,
and if your site is of exceptionally high standards, on the N64Shooters
pages, too. This amount of exposure can only work in your benefit.
- The chance to announce major news on the dataDyne HQ main page.
- Unlimited Forwarding Email Addresses, plus 3 POP3 Email Addresses
(Again, more can be arranged, if necessary).
- An affiliation with Prima Games (providing they accept you, which
is highly likely). This will see you receiving four free strategy
guides (or Prima books) per month, on top of several initial copies
of strategy guides of your choice. You''ll also receive constant exposure
on their site which receives 20,000 uniques per day!
- Connection to an extremely fast Sun Microsystems 250 Enterprise Webserver.
Pluto is running on 1,024MB of RAM, powered by dual 300MHz UltraSparc
II Processors with 2MB of Cache. Pluto runs on Solaris 2.7 release
05/99 with Apache 1.3.3 and has over 100GB of data storage capacity.
- CGI-BIN Access
- Your Page Submitted to a huge selection of search engines
- Full technical support
- An Ultimate Bulletin Board
for your site free of charge (UBB is one of the most professional
and popular Bulletin Boards, and is normally paid for).
- Multiple FTP accounts. Or if you'd prefer, a web-based file manager.
- Full Frontpage 2000 support
- Streaming Real Network G2 media support.
- Plus many more added features such as free chat rooms, mailing list managers, traffic statistics,
and much, much more!
We're very flexible with the above services. If there's something you want, don't hesitate to ask.
Joining Requirements
Sounds too good to be true, you say? This is what you have to give
us in return:
- An IGN.com logo in the top fold of every page.
- An IGN.com banner in the top fold of every page, above all other banners.
- A dataDyne HQ button somewhere on your main page.
- A text link to Perfect Dark dataDyne HQ on every page.
- A sentence somewhere on your main page that says something like, "Free hosting provided by Perfect Dark dataDyne HQ."
- Your site needs to have a decent layout, be updated frequently, well maintained and reasonably popular (Don't worry, boosting your traffic is why we're here).
- Your site must not have any illegal content.
Again, of course, we're very flexible about these requirements. If you don't like something or you're not sure of something, just tell us and we'll find a way around it.
If you'd like to apply
for hosting, please send your site's name and address (important!),
plus your ICQ UIN (if you have one) to Tweek
(tweek@datadynehq.com) with
the subject as "hosting". We'll get back to you within a few
days.
