We're Back!
January 22 - Updated by Tweek @ 2:58am EST

I'm sorry, I've missed a few things lately. I've been unable to update this site for four days, and I don't have any staff members to help me. The good news is that we've got heaps of fresh (well, semi-fresh) PD info, a recent addition to the staff, plus a new editorial every week starting from now. Here's the news I missed.

Co-op Mode Makes a Return

Rumor has it that Nintendo's official Swedish website announced that Perfect Dark will have a two player co-operative mode. However, don't get your hopes up, because it has not been confirmed at all. I don't really consider this news to be completely true, since it has come to us from a relatively unreliable source considering the news was not originally in English. All I'm wondering is, if the people in Sweden know about it, how come the official website of Nintendo of America hasn't announced anything? Or even Rare? Don't get too excited, but it would be pretty cool, huh? Now that you understand that this news may not be true, I'll tell you what is apparently planned for the co-operative game. In Perfect Dark there'll be two types of co-operative missions. One mode allows players to take on the roles of Joanna Dark and her unamed sister, and the other mode allows for one player to be an enemy in the game, such as a dataDyne guard, who must try to stop Joanna from completing her mission. Let's hope this news is true, and that Perfect Dark was delayed for more reasons than we originally thought.

PD for GBC

Rare has released the first ever

screenshots of the up and coming Perfect Dark GameBoy game. Click here to see them. Plus, IGN64 have an article explaining how Perfect Dark for GameBoy will be compatible with Perfect Dark 64. Click here to see it.

Now that you've caught up with the PD news, it's time to catch up with what's happening at the site. As I said earlier, we have a new addition to the staff. Our new member, Ernie, will be writing a new editorial every week plus numerous other things around the site. His first article is bound to make some people angry, as it is about the things that may go wrong with this so called "Perfect" game. We're sure any of you will be disagreeing with what Ernie has to say, so we'll give you a chance to email him your comments so they can be answered on the site. The first editorial will be coming later today.

And, don't forget the Perfect Dark Chat session tonight at 9:30pm EST. This time I'll be there, I promise. Plus, we'll have a new edition of the mailbag very soon, and make sure you head over to our ever-popular forums.

Lastly, we're coming up with several ideas for the site for when Perfect Dark is actually released, so if you have any ideas for new sections, please email me.

The Saga Continues
January 12 - Updated by Tweek @ 11:55pm EST

Well, it's not really a saga at all, and it certainly doesn't deserve this sort of publicity, but I thought I should just clear up a few things about my comments earlier. I'm sure many of our readers don't care (or have no idea what is going on), and I'm sure just as many are finding this very entertaining and amusing. Here are my final thoughts on the site wars.

Some of you thought what I said about the other sites was spot on, and some of you have misinterpreted what I said completely. Firstly, I never doubted that the interview would take place, in fact I'm really looking forward to it. And secondly, my comments were not made to cause hard feelings or to make enemies with other sites. And to tell you the truth, I'm quite surprised and relieved that both sites respected what I had to say and did not take it any further. But, you ask, if I wasn't questioning the topic of the interview, what was I talking about? Well some of you asked me what the point of my little statement was. Well, my problem was how both PD sites conducted themselves over pretty much nothing. I'm sure you understood that from what I originally said.

And just so you know, I've just talked to staff members from both sites and I think that what I've said has made a little bit of difference, so now I'll step away from it. And by the way, I'm sure that interview with Rare will come, but I know that a time can't be decided on just yet, as the PD team are more concerned about getting this game finished on schedule, because that's what really matters, right? We'll tell you when the interview comes, too. Don't you worry about that.

I've got plenty more I wish I could say, but I think I've gone on about it a bit too much already. It's time to concentrate on more important things, and I assure you, we will have new features on the site soon.

Site Wars - Our Statement
January 12 - Updated by Tweek @ 8:45am EST

Yet another site war on the PD front. We tried never to get involved with the verbal diarrhoea that goes on between PD sites (and, for some reason it always seems to be the same one), but today I just got sick of seeing the most cocky PD site on the 'net giving even more crap to other sites.

I don't want to mention the names of the two sites involved, but I would like to say to one of them (you know who you are if

you're reading this) that the only one who's getting "worked up" about the whole thing is you. All the site did was question the fact that you've left your "dedicated fans" hanging about this interview for eight days, maybe as a publicity stunt, and you've retaliated with personal insults. I don't want to get too involved (as I can see the insults flying my way soon, too), but if these are "just websites" maybe you should shut up about it too and get on with what really matters. I don't know how you can call the other site "extremely immature", since, after a sensible comment was made, you hit back by calling them pricks. And, to the site that claims to have "genuine evidence from Rare" that the interview won't take place, why don't you stop withholding this evidence and just tell us about it? Because claiming to have something and not proving it is exactly what you were against in the first place.

EGM Screenshots
January 12 - Updated by Tweek @ 8:30am EST

The PD chat went really well, but we'd like

to see even more people next time. There were about twelve new PD screenshots recently released by EGM, and we're going to upload them to our site very soon. Until then, we can provide you with a link to VideoGames.com's selection of 130 screens that we don't have (We choose not to publish these screens because of their poor quality. The Official Rare screens we provide are the only screens we feel do justice to the game's graphics. We may soon open a low quality screenshot collection, but for now we feel that it's unnecessary since we already have sixty high quality screens).

Please welcome our new affiliate, PDark.com. They're one of the best PD sites around.

Incoming transmission from 2000…

I built this site when I was 12, with some online friends. We took Perfect Dark very seriously.

Restored for nostalgia. Some links are dead. The enthusiasm remains.

Please don’t enter the competitions. February 2000 has been and gone.
